Swiss Maturity
Swiss federal Maturity is a comprehensive course including 13 examination subjects, requiring solid general knowledge and strong competencies in languages as well as in literary and scientific subjects.
The Maturity is the school-leaving qualification which opens the gates to all schools of higher education and universities, without restriction. It is accepted worldwide, but sometimes needs to be accompanied by some kind of equivalence. The course prepares the students for regular and well organised in-depth academic work.
Due to the eliminating mark system, candidates must show no particular weakness in any subject. However, preparation for the Maturity examinations is facilitated by its division into two sessions, one taking place one year after the other in August.
In 2012, College Champittet students will be able to sit for maturity examinations according to French-English bilingual instruction: subjects such as history, geography, and introduction to economics will be examined in English.
