Bilingual Education at Champittet since 2006

Convinced that the benefits of bilingual education far exceed the traditional  
 “1 primary language + 1 more” , Collège Champittet first introduced French/English classes in 2006.

Scientific studies to date in bilingual education have revealed the following advantages:

• Learning a second language early in life stimulates cognitive development affecting reading ability, social skills and scholastic achievement.
• Second language learners are more creative and better at problem solving, performing better on both verbal and nonverbal intelligence tests.
• As a language of communication, the second language introduces cultural awareness and directly influences the primary language development and ease at acquiring successive new languages.
• Bilingual education gives students an advantage in their future studies and employment.
